£16m Spent To Compensate Health Staff |

Almost £90m could be spent on compensation for health and social care staff involved in the re-organisation of the health service an Audit Office report has revealed.
More than £16m has been spent so far to compensate senior officers who lost their jobs according to the report which looks into the delivery of health and social services.
The Review of Public Administration combined trusts, boards and agencies.
Carmel Hanna of the SDLP said: "Some of the senior staff being let go are on final salary schemes and on salary levels which are very generous by Northern Ireland standards.
"I am concerned that the interests of lower-paid staff in the trusts are as equally well protected as those of top management."
The restructuring should deliver annual savings of £53m, the Department of Health has said.
The audit office said benefits as the trusts move beyond the initial stages of reform will take time to emerge and vigilance will be required to deal with challenges.
