East London Murder Appeal

Detectives have appealed for information about the murder of a woman in Manor Park.

Aliza Ahmed Mirza, 18, a student from Ilford, died on Saturday 3 April.

Police had been called to reports of a collapsed female. It is believed she was stabbed while in the Forest View Road area.

Miss Mirza was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old male and a 45-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

They remain in custody at east London police stations.

Two women, aged 20 and 41, and a man aged 42 also remain in custody at east London police stations on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three were previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, but were de-arrested and re-arrested as above.

An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Clayman from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).

"At this early stage, officers retain an open mind as to any motive," he said.
