Singer Denied Entrance To UK

US singer Chris Brown has been forced to scrap his UK tour after the Home Office denied him a visa to enter the country.

Brown has been refused permission as a result of being found guilty of a serious criminal offence.

He was found guilty of assaulting ex-girlfriend and fellow singer Rihanna last February and sentenced to a community service order.

In a statement, the Home Office said: "We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence.

"Public safety is one of our primary concerns. Each application to enter the UK is considered on its individual merits."

Brown was due to play in Glasgow on Wednesday night, with further dates in London and Manchester also lined up. An Irish date in Cork has also been postponed.

Tour promoters SJM circumstances had advised concert-goers to hold on to their tickets, as there would be "possible re-arranged dates".
