Couple Killed In Car Cliff Plunge

A man and a woman have been killed after their car plunged 100 metres over a cliff on the Isle of Wight.

Police were called to Culver Down, near Bembridge, around 8pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash.

Emergency services retrieved two bodies from a blue car, which was found at the bottom of the cliffs.

It is believed that the couple are in their 40s and 50s and are from the island.

Cliff Plunge Couple Remain In Hospital
A couple are still being treated in hospital after their car fell 75ft over cliffs in Cornwall yesterday. The man and woman, who have not yet been identified, both suffered head injuries and suspected fractures in the incident, which happened around midday on Tuesday at Pendennis Point in Falmouth.

Passengers Survive Cliff Plunge
Four female passengers have survived after their car plunged 30 metres down a cliff into a swimming pool. The Nissan Note hatchback veered off the road crashing through a clifftop fence in North Tyneside, ending up in disused outdoor pool at 12.15am. The women walked away with only minor injuries - to the amazement of their friends.

Woman and two children killed in car river plunge
A young woman and her two children have died after their car plunged into a river in Essex, last night. Kelly Toye, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the two children, Courtney Clark, six and Brandon Clifton, three, died later in hospital.

Beachy Head Plunge Death Couple Named
A couple who placed the body of their dead son in a rucksack before jumping off Beachy Head cliffs to their death have been named. The bodies of Neil Puttick, 34, his 44-year-old Japanese wife Kazumi, and their son Samuel, aged 5, were recovered from the notorious suicide spot near Eastbourne, East Sussex, yesterday morning.

Man Bailed Over Teen Car Lake Deaths
A 21-year-old man who was arrested following the deaths of two teenagers in a car lake plunge on Tuesday has been released on bail. It is understood that he is being treated in hospital.
