Freddie Starr Arrested In Jimmy Savile Inquiry

Freddie Starr has been arrested as part of the inquiry into sex abuse claims against Jimmy Savile.

The TV star was arrested in Warwickshire by Operation Yewtree officers.

He has be accused of sexual offences and bailed after questioning.

Star denies accusations of groping a 14-year-old girl while in a room with Savile.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his 60s, from Warwickshire, at 17:45 on Thursday in connection with the investigation.

Scotland Yard is following around 400 lines of inquiry as part of the investigation into claims Savile abused hundreds of children.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.
