Firefighters To Stage Four-Hour Strike

Staging a "warning shot to the government", firefighters in England and Wales will strike for four from midday in a dispute over pensions.

It is understood that the dispute has arisen following a government decision to make firefighters work until 60, which minister claim is one of the most generous in the public sector.

Some 46 local fire services in England and Wales will take part, but have stressed that provisions have been made to provide cover and that 999 calls will be answered.
