M2 Remains Closed After Mystery Hole Opens In Central Reservation
The M2 in Kent remains closed following the appearance of a 6ft wide and 15ft deep hole in the motorway's central reservation.
Some 10 miles of the road between Junction five and Junction six have been closed since the hole appeared on Tuesday.
Emergency safety checks and repairs are now underway at the site between Stockbury and Faversham.
It is hoped that the road will be re-opened by the end of today.

Alton Towers Remains Closed Following Accident
Alton Towers remains closed today, 3 June, following an incident on one of its attractions on Tuesday. At around 2pm yesterday, two carriages crashed on a low section of track on the theme park's The Smiler rollercoaster. Sixteen passengers were on the ride at the time, some of which were trapped for four-and-a-half hours.

Man Critical After Assault
Police in Bloxwich have closed a number of roads following a serious assault. The incident occurred just before 12.30am this morning outside Anchor Inn public house in Chester Road, Brownhills, Walsall. A man aged 44 was taken to hospital. Police said he remains in hospital in a "critical condition".

M40 Closed After Fatal Accident
One person has died following a crash on the M40 in Oxfordshire this morning. The motorway is closed in both directions between Bicester and Banbury, after a lorry collided with two other vehicles before it crashed through the central reservation at around 6am. One of the vehicles involved was carrying oxyacetylene gas canisters.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By A Lorry On M3
A woman has been killed while walking along the side of a motorway in Surrey. The woman, who has not yet been named, was struck by a lorry just after midnight on the M3 at Lightwater, near junction three. She was pronounced dead at the scene. It is understood that police found a vehicle parked nearby, which is thought to have belonged to the woman.
