Honeymoon Couple Killer Absconds From Prison
A murderer, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of a British couple on their honeymoon in Antigua in July 2008, has escaped from Her Majesty's Prison on Thursday .
Ben and Catherine Mullany from Pontardawe in Wales, were married two weeks before being shot by Avie Howell and his accomplice Kaniel Martin.
Mrs Mullany, who was a doctor, died instantly, while her husband who was a physiotherapy student died after he was flown home to Swansea.
Howell escaped from the prison with another inmate who was being detained on fraud charges.
Counsellor Jamal Wright, from St John's police station in Antigua said: "Apparently they used a sharp implement to cut out a portion of mesh and jumped over the northern prison wall, which is about 9m high."
Sgt Raymond Finley said he believed the inmate was still on the island, and local police and defence forces were searching for him.

The Foreign Office has confirmed that Catherine Mullany (nee Bowen), a 31-year-old doctor, from the Pontardawe area died from her wounds after an incident on Antigua on Sunday.

Inmate Wayne McLeod Caught After Absconding From Prison
Police have caught 36-year-old prisoner Wayne McLeod, the third prisoner to abscond from jail over the bank holiday weekend. He went on the run from Springhill open prison in Grendon Underwood, Buckinghamshire, between 5.15pm and 8.15pm on Sunday, according to Thames Valley Police.

Prison officers suspended over corruption claims
Fourteen prison officers have been suspended from HMP Pentonville following allegations of corruption. A spokesperson for the Prison Service confirmed that the prison officers had been suspended over allegations which concerned trafficking and "inappropriate relations" with prisoners.
