Children's Doctor Jailed For Child Sex Assaults

A children's doctor has been sentenced to 22 years in prison after admitting to sexually abusing children in his care.

Cancer specialist Myles Bradbury, who worked at Adenbrooke's Hospital, carried out examinations on children "purely for his own sexual gratification", Detective Superintendent Gary Ridgway, from Cambridgeshire Police, said.

His 18 victims, aged between 10 and 16, included children with haemophilia, leukaemia and other serious illnesses.

He carried out unnecessary intimate medical examinations on his victims.

Bradury also admitted possessing child pornography.

The offences were carried out over four and a half years from 2008.
