UK Language Schools Drop Isis Name After 24 Years

A UK English language school operating under the name of Isis for 24 years, has rebranded itself Oxford International Education Group.

The school said that it had taken to the decision to rebrand as it had become increasingly difficult to attend international language events, with staff receiving "negative comments" for wearing Isis t-shirts.

Stolen Milestones Recovered

Police have reported the discovery of two 18th Century milestones stolen three years apart.

The Punch Bowl stone on the A5183 St Albans Road was stolen in August 2012.

A second stone was taken from opposite the Chequers pub, a mile further down the road near Redbourn, last month.

Police had been told that the stone had been spotted in Hemel Hempstead, only to discovery that it was in fact the first milestone.

A few hours later another member of the public contact police to report a sighting of a milestone.

It was found just over six miles away in Barnes Lane, Kings Langley.

A police spokesman said both would be "placed back in their rightful place at some point in the future".

Teenagers Rescued From Aberystwyth Cliff

RNLI lifeboat volunteers rescued two teenagers from a cliff in Aberystwyth after become cut off by the tide.Sea King helicopter crew from RAF Valley at Anglesey airlifted the pair to safety on Sunday evening.

Money stolen in Securitas van raid
Police have launched an investigation after a Securitas van was robbed by a gang in Cheshire last night. The robbery happened in the Woolston area of Warrington on Wednesday night around 8:15pm. A Securitas security van, on route to a delivery, had been travelling behind a Volvo flatbed truck.

Release Of Police Killer Described As 'Sickening'
The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

'Skull Cracker' In Custody In London
Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.

Riot Police Deployed As G8 Protesters Occupy Former Police Station
Some 100 riot police have been deployed in central London as protestors take to the streets to demonstrate ahead on the G8 summit being held in Northern Ireland next week. Officers were sent to Soho, where protesters are thought to have occupied a former police station on Beak Street.
