O2 Service Returns To Normal After Network Signal Issues

Phone service provider O2 has stated its network has "returned to normal" following complaints of reception problems across the UK.

Customers in England and Northern Ireland experienced problems with signal and mobile internet signal yesterday 25 May.

Many users were unable to send or receive text messages and phone calls while some customers reported problems with the 3G internet signal.

Business Secretary Sajid Javid was amongst those affected by the issue, writing on Twitter asking O2 to "sort it out".

A spokesperson for the company said it could confirm the service had returned to normal shortly after 11.30pm on 25 May.

The statement said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to those customers affected and we will now begin a full investigation to identify the root cause."
