11 Men Charged Over London Gateway Port Heroin Seizure

Eleven man, aged between 30 and 51, have been charged in connection with the seizure of 165 kilos of heroin at London Gateway Port in July 2014.

The heroin was concealed within metal lathes in a sea container which had arrived into London Gateway Port from Pakistan on 1 July 2014. The lathes were delivered to an industrial unit in Oldbury.

The investigation was lead by the National Crime Agency. The men, who are due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates on 23rd July, are Ameran Zeb KHAN, 36, Bordesley Green, Birmingham; Sajid HUSSAIN, 30, Yardley, Birmingham; Mohammed ALI, 35, Small Heath, Birmingham; Mohammed Ahsaf KHAN, 47, Handsworth, Birmingham; Rajesh PATEL, 51, of Staines Upon Thames; Zulfgar MUNSAF, 36, Winson Green, Birmingham; Martin James ADSHEAD, 42, Bearwood, Birmingham; Aftab Ali SHAFKIT, 34, Bearwood, Birmingham; Iftakhar AHMED, 42, Bromford, Birmingham; Imran ARIF, 33, Small Heath, Birmingham; Omar ISA, 33 of Alum Rock, Birmingham.

Ten Arrested In Drug Raids
Nine men and one woman have been arrested in a series of police raids across Birmingham, Solihull and Smethwick. Police carried out the raids early on Thursday morning making ten arrests on suspicion of conspiring to supply dangerous class A drugs like heroin and crack cocaine.

Rail Firm And Signalman Guilty In Signal Crossing Crash

4G mobile internet has been launched across 11 UK cities today. Phone owners in London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow and Southampton on the EE network will have access to 4G, meaning they can surf the web up to five times faster than 3G.

PO Raiders Guilty Of Murder
Three men were today convicted of the murder of Craig Hodson-Walker who was shot dead in a raid at a Post Office in Worcestershire. A fourth member of the gang was cleared of murder and attempted murder but had already admitted attempted robbery.
