Investigation Launched Into Pallet Yard Fire

An investigation has been launched into the cause of a major fire at a pallet yard in east London on Tuesday.

London Fire Brigade were called to the yard on East Hall Lane in Rainham just before 20:00 yesterday.

Station Manager Colin Parker who is at the scene said: "When crews first arrived they noticed that alongside the pallet yard was a large farmhouse which was in danger of being set alight. Quick thinking crews aimed jets at the farm house to protect it from the blaze."

Twelve fire engines from Wennington, Dagenham and Barking  fire stations were on the scene at the height of the blaze.
