16 People Hospitalised After Collision

Sixteen people required hospital treatment following a collision involving two buses and four cars on a London high street.

Emergency services were called to the scene, which involved a single decker bus, a double decker bus and four cars, at 13:15 on Tuesday afternoon.

The collision happen on Broadway in Bexleyheath.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free four people from the double decker bus.

It is understood people reported back and neck injuries.

Double-Decker Bus Overturns In Dorset
Twenty-five people, including children, have been injured after a double-decker bus overturned in Dorset. It is reported that passengers on the top deck were "thrown" from the vehicle and those downstairs where "trapped" following the incident at 10.15am. Emergency services are attending the scene, which has been declared a "major incident".

Up To Four Suffer 'Life-Changing' Injuries In Troop Carrier Collision
More than 20 people have been injured, 4 or 5 seriously, in a collision involving three troop carriers on Salisbury Plain. Wiltshire Police were called to the accident at about 18:30 on Wednesday. The cause of the accident is being investigated but it is understood that 4 or 5 people have suffered "life-changing injuries".

Over 2,000 People Use 'Help To Buy' Scheme
More than 2,000 people have put in offers on homes under the Help to Buy scheme, totalling £365 million of new mortgage lending. The applications are backed by a 'decision in principle' by RBS and Lloyds, the first two participating banks, for 95 per cent mortgages. Ten of the 2,384 applications have already completed.

A new study in The Lancet medical journal has found that healthy people who take aspirin reduced their already small risk of heart attack or stroke by just 12%. However, the small risk of internal bleeding increased by a third.

Portsmouth Man Charged With Terrorism Offences
A man from Portsmouth is due to appear in court today, 24 October, charged with the preparation of terrorism acts. Tuhin Shanesha, from South Sea, was charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.
