Second Body Found In Mill Explosion Search

Cheshire Constabulary has confirmed that a second body has been found in during a search of Wood Flour Mills in Bosley, Cheshire.

On Friday 17 July, an explosion and fire destroyed the four-storey wood processing plant. Four workers were unaccounted for following the incident. On Sunday, police confirmed a body had been found. A second body was recovered on Tuesday. They have not been formally identified.

Efforts are locate those who are still unaccounted for.

A joint investigation into the incident is ongoing between police, fire and the Health & Safety Executive to establish the cause of the incident.

Assistant Chief Constable Guy Hindle has described the conditions as "very difficult" with "ongoing risks".

He added: "It is an extremely complex scene to examine and we've not yet got full access to it. Each agency has a wide range of expertise, and representatives from each are dedicated to the investigation and making the best use of their skills.

"We are making a number of enquiries, but we have to bear in mind that we can't compromise the rescue operation. We are interviewing witnesses and gathering other evidence, all of which will form the investigation."

Derek Moore, Dorothy Bailey, Jason Shingler and William Barks have since been confirmed as the workers who are unaccounted for. A further four people have been taken to hospital for treatment; one woman remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. One man attended hospital but has since been discharged with minor injuries. Two other men remain in hospital in a stable condition.

Security staff at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff have become the first in the UK to wear body-mounted cameras. The board at Cardiff and Vale University said the cameras have been issued in a bid to reduce the number of violent attacks on staff.

Stepbrother Of Becky Watts Charged With Murder
The stepbrother of 16-year-old Becky Watts has been charged with murder. Nathan Matthews, 28, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Bristol Crown Court on 2 April. His girlfriend, Shauna Hoare, 21, was also remanded in custody.

Golf Course Victim Identified
A badly burned body found on the 11th tee of a world famous golf course has been identified by police. The discovery was made by greenkeepers at Carnoustie, Angus, on Wednesday. Robert Higgins, 51, of Main Street, Barry, has been named as the victim. The area was sealed off as while officers worked at the scene. The course has re-opened today.
