Man Shot Dead By Police In North London

A man has been shot dead by police officers in north London.

The 43-year-old victim was killed at an address at Picardy House, Cedar Road, Enfield on 30 August.

Officers were alerted at 9:35pm of a man at an address in Barnet making threats to kill and in possession of what was believed to be a firearm.

The man left the property before officers arrived.

Armed officers later attended the address in Enfield, where shortly before 11:50pm, a white man was shot by police.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and a firearm was recovered.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission for investigation.

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Armed Man Shot By Police
A man in his 40's has been shot by police officers following reports that a man was armed and intending to harm himself and others in Knaphill, Woking. Officers from the Surrey Police attended an address in Oak Tree Road just after 10pm last night. He has been taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting where he is being treated.

Release Of Police Killer Described As 'Sickening'
The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.
