Police Renew Appeal For Information In Plumstead Murder Investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Plumstead will be carrying out enquiries in the town centre one-week on from his death.

The murder investigation was launched after the body of 29-year-old Tadas Jarusevicius was found under a bridge near to Plumstead Railway Station at about 14:00 on Wednesday, 23 September.

Mr Jarusevicius was a Lithuanian national who is believed to have resided under the flyover with a group of males.

While enquiries continue to piece together his last movements, detectives believe Mr Jarusevicius was last seen at around 22:30 on Tuesday, 22 September in and around Mount Pleasant Place, Plumstead.

Detective Chief Inspector Will Reynolds of the Homicide and Major Crime Command said: "My officers will be around Plumstead Railway Station one week on from the discovery of Mr Jarusevicius's body. We know he frequented this area, Lewisham and Woolwich town centres on a regular basis and also appeared to be living under the flyover with a group of males.

"Did you see Tadas in any of these areas during the evening of 22 September? Was he in the company of other people? Did you see or hear anything suspicious, like a disturbance, in the area beneath the flyover on the evening of 22 September or the morning of 23 September?

"Any information you have, no matter how insignificant, could prove to be vital in finding out who attacked and killed this man."

Detectives will be outside Plumstead Railway Station from around 17:30 on Tuesday, 29 September, distributing leaflets and speaking to people who frequent the area.
