Police Arrest Four Youths After Robbery In Sussex

Police have arrested four youths after three Polish men were attacked and robbed in a park in Sussex.

It is understood officers were called to Hartfield Park after 9pm on Thursday following reports that the men, two aged 20 and one aged 24, had been attacked by a large group of youths.

The victims had cash and mobile phones stolen from them in the incident, while one received stitches for a head wound.

The suspects, two 18-year-olds and two 16-year-olds, all from Hailsham, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Detective Sergeant Bonnie Cowley, of Eastbourne CID, said: "This was a nasty and unprovoked attack, carried out after dark, and we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed anything suspicious."

Enquiries are continuing.

Two 14-Year-Old Boys Charged With Manslaughter
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 41-year-old father-of-two in Leicester. Ponnuthurai Nimalaraja, known as Nimal, was assaulted at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Northfield Road shortly after 23:00 on 9 June. Mr Nimalaraja died in hospital on 16 June, one week after being attacked.

Masked Men With Axes Stage Daylight Raid Of Glasgow Arcade
Police have appealed for information after four masked men, armed with axes, staged a daylight smash-and-grab robbery in Glasgow's Argyll Arcade. The four men entered the arcade wearing masks and carrying axes, they set off a smoke bomb before trying to smash shop windows at about 12:15 on Tuesday.

Teen Stab Fatality Is 25th In London
A post mortem examination is to take place today after the latest of a grim series of fatal stabbing incidents. The body of Shaquille Maitland-Smith - who was knifed in the stomach in Hackney, east London, on Saturday night - is to be examined by the pathologist today.

'Man 'critical' after Manchester assault
Police have appealed for information following the assault of a man who confronted youths outside his home in Greater Manchester, which left him in a critical condition. The 27-year-old was attacked outside the house in Newhay Avenue, Benchill on Saturday night around 10:30pm, when he went outside to confront two youths throwing eggs.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To Attempted Murder
Police are appealing for witnesses of the attempted murder of two men at a block of flats in Edinburgh. Police Scotland said the two men, both in their 40s, had travelled from Aberdeen to the flats on Wardieburn Street West, Edinburgh on Wednesday to buy a car. However, when the men arrived at about 18:00 they were attacked by "two young men".
