Three bodies discovered in London house

Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of a woman and her two daughters at a house in east London.

The bodies of the 26-year-old woman and her two children - aged five and six - were discovered at the house in East Ham on Wednesday after police were contacted by a worried relative who had not heard from the woman for nine days.

Police entered the house in Nelson Street and discovered the three bodies in an upstairs bedroom.

Police said that there were no signs of forced entry at the house. Post-mortem examinations are due to take place later on Thursday.

The identities of the woman and her daughters have not yet been revealed and it is understood that relatives are still being informed of the deaths.
