Three RAF servicemen killed in Iraq

Three RAF servicemen have been killed during an attack on their base in Iraq, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

Two men from 1 Squadron RAF Regiment and one man from 504 Squadron Royal Auxiliary were killed in an indirect fire attack on the Contingency Operating Base in Basra, Iraq.

The Ministry of Defence said that they were unable to give any further details due to operational security reasons.

The next of kin of the three servicemen have been informed.

RAF Serviceman Dies In Afghanistan
An RAF gunner has been killed in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. The gunner, from 51 Squadron RAF Regiment, was killed when the vehicle they were travelling in was caught in an explosion during a routine security patrol around Kandahar Airfield in southern Afghanistan shortly after midnight, local time.
