M40 Biker Murder Scene Closed Off

A section of the M40 is closed off to allow the investigation of the murder of a biker.

The man believed to be in his 30s, described as a 'Hell's Angel', was shot dead on the southbound carriageway between Leamington Spa and Gaydon.

Police have said that biker gangs are a strong line in their inquiries.

The motorway remains closed between junctions 10 and 14 northbound and between junctions 12 and 14 southbound. Motorists have been requested to avoid the area.

The incident happened at 2:20pm on the southbound carriageway between junctions 13 (Leamington Spa) and 12 (Gaydon) approximately one mile from the Warwick service area.

Detectives are seeking witnesses who saw a green Rover 620 travelling south on the M40 close to a group of motorcyclists at around the time of the incident.

Police want to speak to the driver and occupants of this car.

Six killed in Brighton motorway smash
Six people have died following a road accident on a section of motorway north of Brighton yesterday. The four-car collision occurred at around 4.30pm on the A23 – the main London to Brighton road – at Pyecombe. Three people, including a two-year-old child, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

M40 Closed After Fatal Accident
One person has died following a crash on the M40 in Oxfordshire this morning. The motorway is closed in both directions between Bicester and Banbury, after a lorry collided with two other vehicles before it crashed through the central reservation at around 6am. One of the vehicles involved was carrying oxyacetylene gas canisters.

Fatal Crash Closes M6 In Cumbria
A large stretch of the M6 in Cumbria has been closed following a crash in which a man was killed. The incident happened shortly before 8am on Monday, when an HGV Scania collided with a transit van between Southwaite Services and Junction 42 on the northbound side of the motorway. Police, ambulance and the fire service attended the scene.

Alton Towers Remains Closed Following Accident
Alton Towers remains closed today, 3 June, following an incident on one of its attractions on Tuesday. At around 2pm yesterday, two carriages crashed on a low section of track on the theme park's The Smiler rollercoaster. Sixteen passengers were on the ride at the time, some of which were trapped for four-and-a-half hours.

Fire Closes Oxfordshire Shopping Outlet
A fire has broken out at the Bicester Village shopping outlet in Oxfordshire. The blaze started at around 8.45am this morning it is understood. Seven fire crews are currently at the scene as they try to extinguish the fire. It is thought the blaze broke out at Carluccio's restaurant on the site. Its roof has been destroyed.
