Langham's Jail Sentence Reduced

Actor Chris Langham is to be freed from jail after he won a four-month reduction from his 10-month jail sentence at the Court of Appeal in London.

The 58-year-old Bafta-award winner is expected to be freed from Elmley prison in Kent today.

Langham was jailed at Maidstone Crown Court in September after he was found guilty to 15 counts of downloading images of children. He was cleared of having sex with an underage girl during the same trial.

Langham, from Goldford, near Cranbrook in Kent, had denied all the charges against him.

He admitted viewing the images, but said that he was not a paedophile and had looked at the images as part of research for the role of a paedophile character in the television series 'Help'.

He also claimed that he was trying to make sense of child abuse that he had suffered as a child.
