Police Raid Birmingham City FC

Police have invaded Birmingham City FC as part on an ongoing corruption probe.

A spokeswoman for the City of London Police said that the search was "in connection with the ongoing investigation into football corruption".

Police have not commented on reports that the raids are connected to the Lord Steven's inquiry into illegitimate payments to football agents.

The report was published last year and in it Lord Stevens raised concerns about 17 tranfer deals involving Premier League clubs.

Birmingham City have stressed that the inquiry relates to a third party separate to the club.
