Investigation After Pensioner Found Dead

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of an elderly man in his south west London home.

Police were called at about 8.45am on Sunday, 3 May to reports of a man seriously injured at an address in Francis Chichester Way, Battersea.

On arrival police discovered a man aged in his 70s suffering from a number of injuries. The London Ambulance Service pronounced him dead at the scene.

He was Paul Peters, 76-years-old who resided at the address. Next-of-kin are aware and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

A man and a woman both believed in their 30s, were arrested at the scene. They are currently in custody at separate south London police stations.

A man also believed to be in his thirties, was arrested and taken into custody after he attended another separate south London police station.

An incident room is open at Lewisham under Detective Inspector Clive Heys from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC).

An open mind is being kept regarding a motive and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

Police Hunt Following Teen Murder
Police are appealing for information following a murder in Southwark. Teenager Lyle Tulloch, from Peckham was stabbed at Newall House in Harper Road on Saturday. Lyle, 15, was confirmed dead at the scene despite efforts from emergency services. A post mortem gave the cause of death as stab wounds and haemorrhaging.

Seven Charged Following Student Protests
Detectives from Operation Malone have charged seven people in connection with the incidents of disorder seen across central London in November and December of last year. Following a decision by the Crown Prosecution Service, the males were charged with a range of offences, including violent disorder and criminal damage.

Man Jailed For Attempted Murder Of Pc
A south London man has been jailed for 25 years for tying to shoot a policeman. Michael Mitchell, 32, of Babington Road, Streatham, was convicted of attempting to murder Pc Shaun Callow, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Man Arrested Over Stockwell Shooting
Trident detectives investigating a shooting in Stockwell that left a five-year-old girl and a 35-year-old man critically injured have arrested a man. The 19-year-old man was arrested in south London yesterday afternoon and is currently in custody at a south London police station whilst enquiries continue.

Man arrested over Lalia Rezk murder
Police investigating the murder of mother-of-two Laila Rezk last year have arrested a man. Mrs Rezk, 51, was murdered shortly after returning to her home in Putney in south London last November. Her daughter found her, lying in her home suffering from severe head injuries, and she died later in hospital.
