Land Industries Seminar Launched

Those working in the environmental and land-based sector - including those seeking support to develop a business venture - are to benefit from a seminar that will address issues relating to business needs.

Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for environmental and land-based industries is hosting the free Business Development Seminar on Tuesday 24th November, at 7.00pm in the Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim.

Spokeswoman Paula Smyth said: "It will focus on the various topics, such as cash flow management and keeping 'finances afloat' as well as ways to cut costs and increase profit margins.

"It will also examine recruitment and retention of staff and cover funding opportunities including the Rural Development Programme."

She said that specialists will be in attendance to give short presentations outlining these topics, after which they will be available to talk on a one-to-one basis.

David Seffen, Lantra's Partnership Manager, also commented: "It is crucial that businesses in the land-based and environmental sector are actively looking for opportunities to manage better within the current recession.

"This event should prove enlightening to those in attendance, whether they are farmers, florists, landscape contractors or individuals seeking opportunities to develop.

"It will empower them to make decisions that could help them thrive while others struggle," he said.

Booking a place at the seminar is essential so to reserve a place, call 028 7963 1304 or email paula.smyth@lantra.co.uk
