Hotel Jobs Under Threat
A number of jobs are under threat after it emerged Dungloe hotel in Ireland's Northwest was to close.
It is feared up to 30 jobs are in jeopardy following the sudden closure of the hotel and leisure complex.
Management at the Ostan na Rosann Hotel met with staff yesterday afternoon and informed them that the premises was closing with immediate effect.
According to files lodged with the Companies Registration Office on 23rd October this year by owners Maurice and Gill McBride they state that the company is having trading difficulties at present.
The McBrides said the difficulties are affecting the turnover and that they do not see the situation improving in the short term because of the current economic climate.
They state that they are in negotiations with their bank.
Management informed staff that a liquidator is to be appointed.
The hotel only recently advertised details of their winter events including their Christmas party event for December.
A number of weddings are also booked in the hotel for 2010 and one couple said last night that the hotel had advised a liquidator would now be writing to them.
