Builders' Supplier Delivers School's IT

A Co Down school is enjoying a boost this month after the donation of equipment from a local construction sector business.

Millisle Primary School has just taken receipt of five computers from buildings solutions company Cemex NI.

It is part of the company's Computers for Schools initiative, with the firm, a leading producer and supplier of materials and services used primarily in the construction industry, donating computer hardware to schools in the local communities in which they operate.

It is part of their commitment as a socially responsible employer, with Paul Connolly, Regional Director for Cemex NI commenting: "We have been donating computers to local schools in the communities we operate for a number of years under our Computers for School project."

Pictured here with Kirsty White and Jake Wilson from Primary 1, he continued: "We are glad we have been able to hand over these computers to Millisle Primary School to enable the pupils to use them to aid their education and learning.

"It is essential that the pupils have computers and internet access to allow them to become IT literate in the increasingly online environment," he said.

Head Teacher at Millisle Primary School, Mrs Patterson commented: "We would like to thank Cemex for the donation of the computers.

"In today's modern classroom they are a very welcome addition to aid the learning and development of the pupils."
