Major milestone for Derry-based joinery firm

Derry-based O'Neill Bros is maintaining its reputation as one of Ireland's leading specialist joinery companies after having successfully completed its latest multi-million pound project in County Meath.

The £2.3 million contract involved the supply and fitting of woodwork at the newly constructed Headquarters of the European Union's Food and Veterinary Office at The Grange, which is one of Ireland's largest timber-clad buildings. The premises will serve as a vital base for European Commission staff relocated to Ireland from Brussels.

The contract, which represents their most challenging yet, saw O'Neill Bros complete not only the external joinery works but also part of the internal package, thanks to their reputation for supplying high quality handcrafted specialist woodwork.

Commenting on the company's ability to secure such large contracts, Managing Director, Manus O'Neill, said: "The company's success is rooted in its unique skill base, which is complimented by modern production facilities and quality management systems which we have developed and refined with over 40 years experience in the industry."

With a number of other major contracts already underway the Derry the future is looking bright for the company.

O'Neill Bros are currently working on fitting out the new Dungannon Court House, McHugh's Bar in Sligo and Hobby Dobbins in Belfast, and have also completed major refurbishments in Donegal and Dublin. (CL)
