Quinn Workers Future 'Priority'
There have been further calls to re-open Quinn Insurance for normal trading.
SDLP MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Tommy Gallagher said the retention of the 600 jobs at Enniskillen has to be the top priority regardless of who is in control of Quinn Insurance.
He was speaking as the administrators of Quinn Insurance presented proposals to the Irish financial regulator aimed at reopening parts of the firm's UK arm.
"The NI Executive needs to immediately commence an all-out initiative with two aims - to have access to the UK insurance market reopened - and to secure the jobs in Enniskillen regardless of whose hands the company is in," Mr Gallagher commented.
Meanwhile, the SDLP Fermanagh and South Tyrone candidate for the General Election, Fearghal McKinney has also commented.
He said it is positive that Quinn Insurance, the Financial Regulator and the company workforce are all agreed on the immediate way forward.
He remarked as the regulator said it would give proposals to re-start business "prompt consideration".
"The important thing is that Quinn Insurance has withdrawn its objections to administration.
"The employees recognise the inevitability of this move given the problems the company faces.
''In many ways the biggest threat to jobs came from the uncertainty of recent weeks," he said, yesterday.
"The judge in the High Court summed up the role of the administrator: to conduct Quinn Insurance as a going concern with a view to placing it on a sound commercial footing.
"There are now clear lines of responsibility for the company's future and the business case for resuming activities in Northern Ireland and Great Britain can be more easily made."

Workers at the beleaguered Quinn Insurance in Co Fermanagh and Co Cavan have said some 1,000 jobs are now at risk after the financial regulator's decision to deny the company the ability to fully re-enter the UK market. Administrators in charge of the business warned employees yesterday some of the 2,400-strong workforce were likely to be let go.
