Northern Ireland’s roads claim three lives

Three people have died on the roads in Northern Ireland over the last two days.

A seven-year-old girl died when she was struck by a bus in the Shankill area of west Belfast at about 7.40pm on Thursday. She was named as Kirsty Gawley, from the Shankill area.

In a separate incident, a woman died when her car left the road and crashed into a field. The accident happened on the Ballysallagh Road between Bangor and Craigantlet on Friday morning. She was declared dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the police have released the name of a motorcyclist killed in a collision in Newry, County Down, on Thursday afternoon. Martin Sexton, 19, of Newry Street, Rathfriland died when his motorbike was involved in a collision with a parked lorry. (AMcE)

PSNI Appeal For Information On Fatal Collision Outside Tandragee
The PSNI have named a man who died following a road traffic collision outside Tandragee, as 84-year-old Sidney McIldoon. Mr McIldoon, who was from Portadown, died following a collision between his vehicle and a tractor on Tuesday afternoon, 13th February on the Cornascriebe Road, between Tandragee and Hamiltonsbawn.

Appeal For Information On Ballygawley Collision
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a two-vehicle collision in Ballygawley. On Sunday, 21 April, a blue BMW M4 and a black Kia Sportage were involved in a collision in the Old Omagh Road area just before 4pm.

PSNI Appeal Following Fatal Collision In L'Derry
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic in L'Derry on Thursday, 18 April. A woman, aged in her 70s, has died in hospital following a two-car collision on the Limavady Road at approximately 4pm. The collision involved a grey Citroen C3 and blue Alfa Romeo.

Police Investigating Man's Death Following Ballynahinch Collision
The PSNI have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of an elderly man following a collision in Ballynahinch. It it understood that police were called at approximately 4.10pm on Monday 08 April, to reports of the "sudden death"of an elderly man at a quarry in the Newcastle Road area of Seaforde.
