Relatives of Bloody Sunday victims attend second film screening

The relatives of those killed on Bloody Sunday have had to steel themselves yet again for the premiere of another movie about the tragic sequence of events which took place thirty years ago.

Relatives of the Bloody Sunday dead and wounded watched ‘Sunday’ directed by renowned director Jimmy McGovern which depicts the events of Bloody Sunday in 1972 in which British Paratroopers shot dead 13 unarmed people in the Bogside area of Derry.

Jimmy McGovern’s documentary-drama will be shown at a special showing for international media in Derry’s Tower Museum on Friday and on Channel 4 television on January 28.

Relatives of the dead and the wounded gathered together on Wednesday January 8 to attend a private screening of ‘Sunday’ at Derry’s Millennium Forum

The film was one of two, which are being released to coincide with the thirtieth anniversary of the tragedy.

Paul Greengrass’s movie, ‘Bloody Sunday’ starring James Nesbitt was privately shown to relatives at a special screening last Sunday. (AMcE)
