Police patrols stepped up following stabbing
Police have stepped up patrols in north Belfast following the stabbing of a 43-year-old man knifed in the Limestone Road area.
The Catholic father of five was said to be in a stable condition in hospital after being attacked when he confronted several men, believed to be loyalists, who were damaging a car around 4.30am on Tuesday January 3.
The car was outside the man's house at Newington Street near the Limestone Road area in the city.
He also had cuts to his shoulder and hand after he was beaten about the head and body.
The attackers ran off after a neighbour arrived at the scene.
The man was taken to the city's Mater hospital where his condition is described as stable.
Detectives investigating the stabbing have appealed for any witnesses to contact them. (AMcE)

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Man Stabbed During Attack In East Belfast
A man, aged in his 40's, has been stabbed during an attack in east Belfast. The victim was chased by a number of men from the Killagan Bend in the Cregagh area area, heading towards the Greenway just after 11 pm on Monday, 03 May. He was stabbed in the back and the head. The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Man Arrested Following Two Stabbing Incidents In Belfast

Inspector Donna McGrady said police were alerted at about 1.15am by a member of the public on Bedford Street to a fight going on in the area.

Woman Bailed Following Stabbing Attack
A woman, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing attack in Newry, has been released on bail. The man who was injured in the assault is believed to be in a stable condition. He was transferred from Daisy Hill Hospital to the Royal Victoria Hospital where he underwent surgery. The woman was bailed pending further police enquiries.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.
