Appointments Made To Ilex

The Urban Regeneration Company, tasked with the physical, economic and social regeneration of Londonderry, has appointed four new board members.

Ilex are responsible for the transformation of Ebrington and Fort George former security bases.

The four new non-executive members are Dame Geraldine Keegan, Margaret Lee, Frank Hewitt and Colm McKenna all of whom took up their posts on July 1st.

The Office of First and Deputy First Ministers at Stormont and the Department of Social Development made the appointments.

First Minister Peter Robinson said: "The experience, expertise and skills of the new members combined with their personal drive, determination and focus on delivery will be an asset to the company."

McGrath named as new NITB chief
Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, has announced the name of the new chairman and four new members of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB). Tom McGrath, OBE, will replace Roy Bailie, OBE, as Chairman of the NITB with Mr Bailie retiring from the post as Chairman when his role expires on December 31, 2002.

New Rules On MLAs Employing Relatives
Stormont MLAs must now register the details of family members they employ, under a new code of conduct. Under the policy, Assembly members must also register earnings made outside of Stormont. MLAs approved the new code yesterday. It had been pushed forward by the Standards and Privileges Committee, headed by the SDLP's Carmel Hanna.
