Cookstown Hit By 'Bomb Alert'

Terrorists are playing a dangerous game of 'Cat and Mouse' with the PSNI today.

Officers are searching several areas of Cookstown after a warning that a small device had been left in the town - even though no specific location has been established by police.

A PSNI spokesman has said that people living in the area should not touch anything suspicious.

They said that a telephone bomb warning was made to Cookstown police station on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, a man has been shot after being abducted by several men in north Belfast.

The 31 year-old victim was forced into a car in the New Lodge area at around 11pm on Wednesday.

He was then driven to Aspen Walk in Dunmurry, where he was shot in the leg.

However, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
