Dutch Investors 'Sold On Belfast'
A group of around 50 real estate developers from The Netherlands have been visiting Belfast City Hall and have paid tribute to the city's regeneration.
Wienke Bodewes, Chairman of NEPROM (Association of Dutch Property Developers), said they were here to see what they could learn about the city's regeneration strategy.
"We are especially interested in how it is adapting to cope with the economic conditions. It is part of a visit we are making to similar cities such as Liverpool and Manchester."
The potential investors were welcomed to City Hall by Lord Mayor, Councillor Pat Convery, who told them of Belfast City Council's commitment to improving the quality of life for all who live in, visit and invest in Belfast.
"Organisations across our city are working hard and investing millions of pounds in projects which are changing Belfast and its skyline," he said.
"Despite the economic climate this is an exciting time for Belfast with signs of optimism and confidence all around us. There is much to celebrate and I am proud to showcase what we have to offer now and in the future."
As well as highlighting more than ₤500m of developments in the last two years, the Lord Mayor referred to ongoing and upcoming projects such as Titanic Quarter, Titanic Signature Project, Connswater Community Greenway Project and new cultural facilities at the Lyric Theatre and the MAC.
NEPROM consists of 67 member companies who are active in all areas of the property market including offices, retail and housing. The organisation's main goal is to encourage co-operation between public authorities and project development.

St Patrick's Day event has support of BCC says councillor
The Chairman of Belfast City Council’s Good Relations Steering Panel has challenged claims that the Council is not supporting St Patrick’s Day in Belfast. It follows a protest outside Belfast City Hall last week by the St Patrick's Carnival Committee who claim the Council isn't funding this year's event at the City Hall.

Primark Donates £500,000 To Support Businesses Affected By Fire
Retailer Primark is donating £500,000 to Belfast City Council's City Recovery Investment Fund. The fund is being set up after a number of businesses have been severely affected by the fire at the Bank Buildings which happened over three weeks ago. A cordon remains in place and 14 firms have been closed for up to four months.
