Man Shot In Dublin At Weekend Dies

A man who was seriously injured following a shooting incident in Dublin on Sunday, has died in hospital.

Robert Ryle, 30, from Ballyfermot Dublin was pronounced dead this morning at Tallaght General Hospital.

Mr Ryle was recovering in hospital after being shot in Foxdene Park in Dublin on Sunday night.

At the time of the incident, the 30-year-old man had just got out of a car onto the driveway of a house when he was approached by a lone gunman and hit with a number of shots from a handgun.

According to reports, the gunman fired five or six shots from a handgun and the victim was hit in the chest and neck.

He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

No arrests have yet been made but a gun had been recovered close to the scene of the crime.

Early reports have suggested the man is an associate of the Corbally brothers, Paul and Kenneth, who were killed in a double gangland execution, in west Dublin in June.

Gardaí have launched an appeal into the murder, and investigating Gardai said that, in particular, they wish to speak with anyone who was in the Balgaddy and Foxdene areas between 7pm and 9pm on the evening of Sunday 24th October.

Anyone with information on the incident, is asked to contact Gardaí at Ronanstown on 01 6667700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
