Disappeared's Remains Found At Beach
The remains of one of the people kidnapped and murdered by the IRA have been located.
The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains (ICLVR) said this afternoon in a statement that during its search for the body of Peter Wilson, it has found human remains at a dig site in Waterfoot in Co Antrim, pictured here in happier circumstances as visitors enjoy the picturesque Glens of Antrim setting.
"The recovery is ongoing and the formal identification process will take some time," said the formal statement that was this afternoon issued by the Northern Ireland Office on behalf of the ICLVR.
The organisation said that the family of Mr Wilson and the PSNI had been informed.
The body is believed to be one of the 'disappeared' Peter Wilson, who was 21 when he went missing from his home in the Falls Road area of west Belfast.
Archaeologists and other experts had been examining the Waterfoot beach in the Glens of Antrim in a probe that began last month after the ICLVR received a tip-off.
At the time, the Sinn Fein President and life-long republican, Gerry Adams made a point of welcoming the news that a search for the remains of Peter Wilson had begun.
Believed to have been murdered and then secretly buried by the IRA in 1973 Peter Wilson had learning difficulties.
Of the 16 people who make up the 'disappeared', just eight have been located while the news that the archaeologists and other experts were examining the beach at Waterfoot meanth this was the first time such a search has been undertaken in N.
All other remains that have been recovered were found across the border in the Irish Republic.
Just this week, relatives of those abducted, killed and secretly buried by the republican paramilitaries have held an event highlighting their campaign to find their remaining loved ones.
They held a 'silent walk' at Stormont and laid a black wreath with white lilies symbolising those who have not yet been found on the steps of Parliament Buildings.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

Men Sentenced For Ballymena Drug And Money Laundering Operation
Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.

Four men have been sentenced in connection with a series of ATM thefts in the County Antrim area over four years ago. The investigation related to a number of ATM thefts between 27th October 2018 and 6th December 2019, including the theft of two cash machines at a supermarket on Castle Way in Antrim.

Warning Issued After Thousands Lost To Gift Card Scam
The PSNI have issued a warning after a L'Derry resident lost thousands of pounds in a gift card scam. According to police, the person was contacted online and told that they had won money. They were told they needed to send online gift cards to verify themselves. This continued for some time before the scam was spotted and stopped.

PSNI Identify Body Recovered From Lough Neagh
A body recovered in a coastline area of Lough Neagh on Sunday 18th February has been identified as Alan Whiteside. The 33-year-old Mr Whiteside was reported missing to police in Antrim on Sunday, 17 December. PSNI Detective Inspector Lenaghan said that Mr Whiteside was identified following a post-mortem examination.
