Video and data conferencing seen as vital for business
Following the events of September 11 in the United States, business have begun turning to video and data conferencing as a cost effective way of successfully communicating with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
This is according to ‘UK online for business’ who have produced a free guide containing all the information needed to benefit from this type of technology.
The guide is designed to give enough basic information for any small or medium sized business that wants to start installing and exploiting video and data conferencing seriously. It also gives information on the added advantages of conferencing and the costs involved.
While many companies are still wary of investing in this technology, video and data conferencing facilities can be hired from ‘UK online for business’ advisors at many of their Business Links in England.
In Northern Ireland these facilities are available through demonstration at the Industrial Research and Technology Unit (IRTU). However, while the agency does not actually hire out the equipment, they do have a subsequent list of suppliers in Northern Ireland. (MB)
