Teenagers shot in paramilitary style attacks

Two teenagers have been shot in separate paramilitary-style attacks in County Antrim.

A 19-year-old man was treated in hospital after being shot in the legs in Newtownabbey. He was found on Monday, November 5, at the back of a derelict house in Deerfinn Park in the Rathcoole area around 7.15 pm.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old youth was admitted to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg at about 9.30pm on Monday. He was found at the back of the Cavehill Inn in north Belfast.

Meanwhile, two pharmacies have been robbed in west and south Belfast. Three armed men stole money and ten boxes of Tamazepam tablets when they held up a pharmacy on the Andersonstown Road, Belfast on Monday, November 5, 2001. The thieves were armed with a knife, a crossbow and a hammer. They entered the shop just before 3pm, threatened staff and then made off in a white Volvo car registration number KDZ 9190. Around an hour later two men -one armed with a crossbow - went into a chemist's shop at Kingsway Dunmurry. Again money and Tamazepam tablets were taken. The same car was used for a getaway. It was later found at Upper Green, Dunmurry. Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward. (AMcE)

Victim found shot in Co Down graveyard
A man has been found with a gunshot wound to his chest at a graveyard in Holywood, Co Down on Monday. The 26-year-old victim, who is critically ill in hospital, is believed to have been dragged into Redburn Cemetery in Holywood by four men before being shot in the early hours of the morning. A local resident raised the alarm at around 2.

Man Shot Dead In West Belfast
A man has been shot dead in west Belfast. It is the third shooting incident in the city in less than 24 hours. Daniel Murray, a delivery driver aged in his 50s, was killed in his car on Lady Street on Monday night. Sinn Féin MP Paul Maskey condemned the attack He said: "There can be no place in our society for such actions.

Two men shot in paramilitary style attack
Two men have been treated in hospital for gunshot wounds to their legs following a paramilitary style shooting in north Belfast on Monday. The victims, aged 41 and 42, are believed to have been attacked in the Tyndale Grove area of the city shortly before 10pm.

Search Continues For Human Remains In Wicklow
Mechanical diggers are being used to aid forensic scientists who are still working at the site near Blessington in Co Wicklow where human remains were found earlier this week. A large Gardaí forensic tent covers the dig area which is under round-the-clock armed protection by police officers.
