Courts services to get civilian security
Ballymena-based Maybin Security and Guarding Services are to take on a significant amount of duties in local courts in place of existing police officers.
Over 200 jobs are likely to be created as a result of the new agreement, however Maybin have refused to comment on rumours but did say that an official statement would be issued in two weeks.
However, it is believed that the company will take over internal security within local courts as well as court administration and jury-keeping services. It is also believed that the new batch of Maybin recruits will free up valuable policing staff as present police numbers are reduced as part of normalisation. (MB)
