The Day The Music Died

The Zhivago Music Shops in Galway have gone into voluntary liquidation with the loss of up to 15 jobs.

The stores were operated by Sound City Galway Limited at Shop Street in the city centre and at the Galway Shopping Centre on the Headford Road. Management say the popularity of online downloads has affected business considerably.

The Shop Street outlet closed a number of days ago, while the outlet at the Galway Shopping Centre will trade under a new name.
