Bombardier Economy Boost Welcomed

Ireland's leading transportation manufacturers Bombardier, announced the largest business aircraft sale in the company's history with a firm order for 50 Global business jets with options for an additional 70 Global aircraft.

The transaction for the order is valued at approximately $2.8 billion.

East Belfast Alliance MP Naomi Long has hailed the news from Bombardier as a major boost to the local economy.

Long stated: "This is excellent news and is a genuine good news story at a time of global economic uncertainty.

"This is high profile order and is testament to the excellent work being carried out at Bombardier. This order will undoubtedly boost the economy in East Belfast and, coupled with other recent jobs and investment announcements, underlines the fact that the area is one of the key drivers of the Northern Ireland economy."

President of Bombardier Business Aircraft Steve Ridolfi commented: "We are very proud to have NetJets, the worldwide leader in private aviation, select the Bombardier Global aircraft family. Bombardier shelves CSeries project
Aircraft manufacturer Bombardier has shelved its planned 110 to 130-seater CSeries airliner as it shifts resources to work on regional jet and turboprop aircraft. Bombardier announced that "present market conditions do not justify the launch of the CSeries jet at this time".
