Jobs Boost As Acorn Life Expands

A Galway-based service company is on the up with news that it is creating 150 new jobs this year with 30 positions already filled.

Financial services provider Acorn Life has said it is to invest €2m in it technology infrastructure to support the new roles which will be based throughout Ireland.

Acorn Life, which has assets of €455m and premium income in excess of €80m, is one of the country's leading life insurance providers. Established in 1989, it currently employs about 300 people across the country.

The company said it is specifically looking for experienced business professionals who are looking for a change from their current industry and will provide the necessary training to support this initiative.

"This is an excellent opportunity for both those who would like to launch their career in financial services and those who have enjoyed previous success in other business sectors but are looking to change direction," said Acorn's head of Business Development Keith Butler.

Speaking to the Irish Times he said: "We are currently focused on identifying individuals with the skill set and motivation to 'fit' our organisation - we are essentially looking for men and women with business acumen and experience to become part of our expansion," he added.
