Everyone’s a winner at the CIM NI Marketing Awards

Nambarrie Tea Company Ltd has picked up the top prize at the prestigious 2001 CIM NI Marketing Awards at the Culloden Hotel.

Winning the premier LEDU-backed Marketing Excellence Award, the tea manufacturer also bagged the top prize in the Marketing Communications Award, sponsored by Yellow pages.

Over 375 business people attended the formal awards ceremony organised by the Northern Ireland branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and watched as companies from across a wide spectrum of sectors were singled out for praise.

Scooping the remaining six accolades were:



  • Delta Packaging Ltd – Marketing Development Award


  • RFD Ltd – Export Award


  • Johnson Brothers (Belfast) Ltd – Agri-Food Strategic Marketing Award


  • John Hendersons Ltd – Electronic Marketing Award


  • Wilson Nesbitt – Services Marketing Award


  • Shell Livewire – Voluntary/Community Sector Marketing Award




Commenting of the ceremony and of those shortlisted for awards, Sue Ward, chair of the CIM NI branch, said: “What we have seen here is a tremendous showcase of marketing best practice and technological innovation and year on year the CIM awards continue to attract a growing number of entries from local companies who are adopting the core principles of marketing to achieve business success.”

As well as winning the distinctive red CIM trophy, this year’s winners walked away with numerous business benefits including advertising sponsored by Business Eye, IT or management training provided by Parity and sea travel courtesy of Stena Line. (MB)

NI urged to enter National Safety Awards scheme
The British Safety Council is inviting businesses and organisations in Northern Ireland to enter its National Safety Awards scheme. Six organisations in Northern Ireland are in line for awards with applications invited from large and small enterprises, and from public and private sectors. Last year more than 1,000 organisations were honoured.
