General Fiasco Set For 'One Cool Weekend'

Cool FM have announced on Tuesday that Northern Ireland's indie-rock band, General Fiasco, will perform at One Cool Weekend.

They will play on day one of the weekend music concert, taking place over Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August in Newcastle, Co. Down, as part of Down District Council's Festival of Flight.

The young band, (pictured) who broke into the UK charts with their song Ever So Shy, will be among top chart and local acts scheduled to perform at the Playing Fields, Castlewellan Road. The event will also feature an air display from the Red Arrows and a full programme of family entertainment.

Other top chart acts performing across the two days include hip-hop star Chipmunk, indie-rockers Hard-Fi, pop five-piece The Feeling, hip-hop/grime artist Wretch 32, English singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, Irish girl-band Wonderland, and electro-pop starlet Frankmusik.

A fully licensed bar is available within the concert site on both days for persons 18 years and over (ID required). A festival village with food vendors, stalls and more is also available.

Last year the Festival of Flight attracted 140,000 people to the County Down town.

Tickets for the event are available from only £19.99 via www.ticketmaster.ie and www.coolfm.co.uk. Persons under 16 years old must be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over.
