Open + Direct sponsor IFA Junior Cup
Open + Direct has announced it is to become the new sponsor of the Irish Football Association’s (IFA) Junior Cup competition.
As the oldest and most prestigious challenge cup competition in Northern Ireland at Junior level, the deal brings with it an increased incentive to clubs, with the winners receiving £1,200.
Open + Direct is also to introduce new elements to the competition as part of its sponsorship. These will include an Open + Direct Tie-of-the-Round award and the introduction of a prize for Man of the Match.
Speaking at the launch, John Hamilton, Chairman of the IFA’s Junior Committee, said: “Such a high-profile quality sponsorship will unquestionably add tremendous extra status to the Junior Cup.
“The partnership established by the IFA and Open + Direct will bring many new benefits to both the Junior Clubs and players competing in this competition over the next season.”
A subsidiary of the Viridian Group, Open + Direct is Northern Ireland’s largest company in terms of turnover. (MB)
