Minister announces £1.6m investment at Lisburn company

Lisburn company, Pressfold, manufacturers of steel products, including Powershield Steel Doors, and architectural building accessories, have announced that it is investing almost £1.6 million in a new production facility designed to streamline its production processes to support planned growth and up to 18 jobs.

Welcoming the investment, Sir Reg Empey, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, said the investment was an ambitious project by a growth focused company which had seen sales more than double in the last four years.

He added: "By concentrating on its Powershield branded door product, the company has developed a solid customer base at home and is steadily expanding its sales outside Northern Ireland. By adopting a strategic approach the company is positioning itself for continued growth in the future.

"In addition to this welcome jobs boost, the investment will enable Pressfold to centralise its operations, currently split over three sites, and increase efficiency.

"I understand that the company also places considerable importance on staff training and in product and process research and development. Placing such importance on people, product and processes should equip this company to adequately face whatever challenges lie ahead in the future."

It is hoped that the LEDU backed investment package, which is to be located at Knockmore Industrial Estate in Lisburn, will lead to the creation of 18 new jobs over the next three years. (MB)
