NI Hopefuls 'Through To X-Factor Bootcamp'

At the ongoing X-Factor auditions, three NI hopefuls have made it through the first round, according to reports this week.

Jolene Burns, 23, from north Belfast successfully auditioned for the competition in Liverpool, while Niall Sexton, a 17-year-old A Level student from Magherafelt, and Portrush born 32-year-old Roger Boyd have reached the next round of the singing competition.

All three were put through during auditions held in front of a live audience in Liverpool.

The contestants faced down a panel of judges that included Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh, with Dermot O'Leary returning as host.

The first episode is expected to be broadcast in just over a week's time, on 20 August.

Man Extradited From Poland To Stand Trial In NI

PHA Warns Of Increasing Cases Of Tuberculosis In NI
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has issued a warning over a steady increase in cases of tuberculosis (TB) in Northern Ireland since 2020. There were 77 cases of TB notified to the PHA in 2023, an increase from 68 cases reported in 2022 and 55 cases reported in both 2021 and 2020.

Enrolment Numbers Increase At 21 NI Schools
Enrolment numbers at 21 primary and post-primary schools has been increased, Education Minister Paul Givan has announced. The announcement has been made following a pilot programme developed to adjust admissions and enrolment numbers in schools whose actual enrolment has historically been in excess of their approved admissions numbers.
