Alleged Belfast Vice Ring Closed

A 29-year-old male has been charged with trafficking into the UK, trafficking within the UK, controlling prostitution, brothel keeping and concealing criminal property.

A PSNI statement today said that a 22-year-old male and a 22-year-old female have been charged with brothel keeping and controlling prostitution.

All three are expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on the morning of Friday 26 August, while a 24-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries. Earlier this week, four people were arrested in Belfast in a police investigation into a human trafficking and vice ring.

The PSNI said six suspected trafficking victims had been rescued in recent weeks due to their enquiries and that the investigation has been running for three months and while centred in Belfast, stretched across Europe.

Arrests Made In Human Trafficking Operation
A man has been arrested in Belfast on suspicion of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution, brothel keeping and money laundering. The 57-year-old was arrested by detectives in PSNI's Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Unit during a search operation. A number of electronic devices were seized.

Four Due In Court On Human Trafficking Charges
Four people are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today charged in relation to human trafficking, following raids on suspected brothels last week. A 21-year-old woman and two men, aged 33 and 46, have been charged with trafficking for sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution, brothel keeping and money laundering.

Five potential victims of human trafficking have been rescued by the police following operations across Belfast. Two Charged In Connection With Human Trafficking
Two people have been charged after a 29-year-old woman was rescued by the PSNI's Human Trafficking Unit in Co Tyrone. Officers carried out searches after concerns were raised about a woman's safety in Dungannon. A 32-year-old man has been charged with rape, human trafficking, controlling prostitution and kidnapping.
