Local TV Summit To Be Held In Belfast

Local TV is one of the UK Government's top media priorities and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has published a list of the locations that have the potential to receive a new local TV service.

This list includes a number of areas in Northern Ireland.

With that in mind, the Secretary of State, Jeremy Hunt MP will be visiting Belfast on 9th September to discuss plans for local TV.

The event will give attendees the opportunity to hear more about his vision for local TV and consider and question the views of Mr Hunt and other interested parties. It will also act as a networking event with potential partners.

Any organisation with an interest in local media that would like to attend should contact the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The event will run from 4pm at the Ulster Hall, located at 1-7 Bedford Street in Belfast.
